Reports To: Assistant Program Coordinator Pay Range: $55,000 - $75,000

For nearly 50 years, House of Ruth has empowered women, children, and families to rebuild their lives and heal from trauma, abuse, and houselessness. We offer comprehensive services for survivors, including service-enriched housing, nationally accredited child and family development programming, and free counseling to anyone who has experienced domestic violence.
Position Summary:
Provide a support system for people dealing with drugs, alcohol and/or other addictions issues. Teach individuals how to modify their behavior with the intention of full recovery.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Works with case management team to provide services that support a positive treatment outcome
- Develop program participant treatment plans based on results from the screening tools and bio-psychosocial assessment
- Consults with collateral sources in order to coordinate continuity of care for program participants
- Ensures adequate substance use disorder services are identified and addressed
- Responsible for maintaining client records which include documentation of treatment activity and progress
- Ensures that client records are accurate, comprehensive and legible
- Facilitates weekly groups that focus on substance use disorders
- Complete monthly reports for the Community Naloxone Data Reports
- Create monthly calendar for staff to administer breathalyzer and urinalysis
- Administer breathalyzer and urinalysis testing
- Maintain written and computerized records compile reports and complete other program documentation (e.g., progress notes, incident reports, on-call logs, letters, psychosocial assessments)
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services field (Social Work, Psychology, and Sociology); Master’s preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of group therapy and substance use experience required
- If candidate is currently in recovery from a substance use disorder three to five years of continuous sobriety is required
- Must be certified or licensed in the District of Columbia with at least one of the following:
- Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor LCPC
- Certified Addictions Counselor CAC
- Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor LGPC
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker LCSW
- Licensed Graduate Social Worker LGSW
- Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker LICSW
Qualifications:
- Successfully passing the following pre-employment process is required:
- FBI Fingerprint/Background Check
- Alcohol and drug Test
- Urine Screening
- TB Test
- Police Clearance
- Must be fully vaccinated
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office 365.
- High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and manage day to day activities of the program.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule in a 24/7 operation and be on call as needed, including some weekends.

The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
