Position Summary:

Coordinates meal activities and completes program administrative tasks as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. All duties and responsibilities are completed according to the House of Ruth’s policies and procedures.

  • Assists with the preparation and service of meals according to schedule (all food items follow posted menus).
  • Serves meals by CACFP meal patterns; distributes the correct tools for measuring serving sizes.
  • Maintains unexpired Food Safety Manager Certificate and follows all food safety protocols, including but not limited to time and temperature controls, proper dishwashing procedures, rotating foods, discarding expired foods, conducting appropriate hand hygiene, and preventing cross-contamination.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly kitchen.
  • Delivers meals and food service items to classrooms and picks the used items up upon completion of meals and washes dishes.
  • Launder bibs and other fabric classroom items daily; launder bedding once per week per class.
  •  Ensures that all food allergies are appropriately posted and accommodated.
  • Assists with inventory of food, food service, and hygiene supplies. In charge of putting away and distributing food and food service supplies, diapers, wipes, etc.
  • Assists with maintaining accurate USDA records as required by the contract: delivery slips, meal counts, fruit log, temperature log, menu changes, etc.
  • Acts as backup in the kitchen manager’s absence.
  • Set up for and clean up after events such as meetings, workshops, celebrations, etc.

Education/Experience Required:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Food Handlers License

Qualifications:

  • Successfully passing the following pre-employment process is required:
    • FBI Fingerprint/Background Check
    • Alcohol and drug Test
    • Urine Screening
    • TB Test
    • Police Clearance
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office 365.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be fully vaccinated
